Duties and Responsibilities

Job Summary

The incumbent will fast become the “trusted advisor” for a dedicated client group in the United States, out of our Snohomish branch. As a full-fledged and empowered HR business partner, this role also contributes to various corporate programs and initiatives that will advance the culture of the organization overall, toward “top employer” status.

 

Specific Responsibilities 

  • Deliver HR services and provide expertise to clients; resulting in a seamless point of contact and ensuring successful integration of corporate HR initiatives. This includes but is not limited to: full-cycle recruitment, employment law & compliance, disability management, employee relations, benefits administration, employee engagement, employment equity, performance management, learning and development (including orientation of new hires) and HRIS data integrity.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment to meet resourcing goals across all levels within the assigned region.
  • Lead through employee relations matters such as conducting workplace investigations, researching, facilitating interviews/ meetings, drafting letters involving discipline, performance improvement plans and other corrective actions that require follow-up.
  • Analyze and assist with developing, designing, implementing, and evaluating various learning and development initiatives and programs for designated client groups (new hire orientation/onboarding, focus groups and coaching & facilitation)
  • Assess sensitive and complex situations, advising in the progression of such cases and escalate concerns related to business risk to the HR Manager as required.
  • Coordinate the preparation of HR forms and letters related to the effective processing of HR transactions (new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations)
  • Establish strong relationships by delivering quality and timely service; identifying design and process inefficiencies and bringing a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Support the HR “centres of expertise” in the localized planning and implementation of programs, projects and initiatives
  • Employee may be asked to perform other ancillary or related duties as required, to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required and at least 5 years progressive experience in an HR Generalist role
  • Independent judgement and discretion in representing the company, the leader and the employee while promoting a fair and equitable work environment
  • Strong knowledge of legislative compliance in the states of WA., OR., CA and TX., and the ability to monitor compliance against established employee policies and procedures.
  • SHRM designation preferred
  • Experience working ATS, PMS and HRIS (ADP and WorkDay) are assets
  • Able to work at the speed of the business and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to administer organizational design and change issues
  • Highly effective interpersonal and written communication skills required
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.

Skills and Abililties

  • Knowledgeable – Demonstrated knowledge and best practice in foundational areas of HR as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office products and applicant tracking systems
  • Interpersonal Skills - Demonstrated strong interviewing, negotiation and presentation skills as well as the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, provide excellent employee/candidate experience and maintain effective relationships
  • Results Focus – Driven to achieve and add value to the workplace; balancing high quality service with strong business acumen and decision making
  • Analytical thinking – capable of complex reasoning analysis through the development, implementation, and interpretation of policies, procedures, and processes and evaluating their effectiveness
  • Leadership - Plan, organize, and manage multiple projects while championing the desired culture across the business.
  • Flexibility – open to change; rapidly adapting to new information, changing conditions or unexpected obstacles (because that’s what project management is all about!)
